Exchange program promotes Vietnam-Laos special friendship
The program was part of the Vietnam-Laos border friendship exchange 2019, jointly held by the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Quang Tri provincial Party and People’s Committees.
The event was attended by the Secretary of the Quang Tri provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chinh, Deputy Director of the Foreign Relations Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, Major General Nguyen Dai Hoi, and Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, Major General Nguyen Van Nam, among others.

The event also saw the participation of Lao guests, including Major General Siphan Phutthavong, Director of the Lao Defense Ministry’s Border Guard Department; Major General Bunmi Xengkhamdoong, General Director of the Lao Public Security Ministry’s Security General Directorate; and Senior Colonel Bangsxi Xaysompot, Lao Defense Attaché to Vietnam.
During the program, delegates enjoyed art performances and watched reportages in praise of the great special solidarity and friendship between the two governments and peoples over the past time.
They also shared experience in conducting border protection missions and supporting their people in socio-economic development.
Besides, the organizing panel also presented 30 gifts to needy students and 30 breeding cattle, worth VND 500 million, to needy households in the provinces of Quang Tri, Salavan, and Savannakhet.
