Fostering Vietnam – Laos Economic cooperation
This is the first time that the Prime Minister of Laos attend the meeting with Vietnamese large scale enterprises and corporations, expressing the desire of the Leaders of two countries in promoting and strengthening economic relationship, corresponding with the political relationship between the two nations - Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung said.
Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of the Lao Government have had their official visit to Vietnam from October 1st to October 3rd at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Over the past years, political ties between the two countries have been expanded with stronger trust, playing the key role in bilateral relations. The two sides have held regular meetings and delegation exchanges in all channels.
Cooperation in economy, culture, education-training, security and external affairs has also developed. Vietnam continues to be one of the leading countries investing in Laos and is a major trade partner of Laos.
The leaders of the two countries are drastically promoting the cooperation of the two economies, especially in infrastructure, transportation and energy.
