The Liaison Board was voluntarily joined by former personnel of the Office of the Ministry of National Defense, who had supported the Lao people in various fields in the past.
At the ceremony, a six member Executive Committee from the Liaison Board was elected. Lieutenant General Le Van Han, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army was chosen as its head.
The board was formed in order to maintain a historical connection among former officers of the Office of the Ministry of National Defense while also bringing into play the noble virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers. The board looks to promote people-to-people diplomacy with Lao people and contribute to fostering the solidarity and friendship between the two militaries and the two countries.
