In an unprecedented tripartite defense engagement, the opening ceremony of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange was held today, December 14th, in the shared border region encompassing Kon Tum province of Vietnam, Attapeu province of Laos, and Ratanakiri province of Cambodia. The event, taking place in Ngoc Hoi district and the city of Kon Tum within Vietnam's Kon Tum province, marks a significant stride in regional cooperation.

Vientiane, Laos – In a significant move to increase agricultural commodity production, the Lao government has unveiled a series of credit policies aimed at easing farmers' and entrepreneurs' access to low-interest capital from financial institutions and microenterprise promotion funds. Historically, many producers and businesses in the agricultural sector have struggled to secure affordable financing, often resorting to high-interest, short-term loans due to limited government funding and a lack of specific credit policies for agricultural production and processing.

In the remote northern reaches of Vietnam’s Central Highlands, a landmark not only marks the convergence of three nations but also symbolizes the enduring trust and solidarity among Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Known as the “Tri-Border Landmark” or “Indochina Tripoint”, this famed location is often poetically described as a place where “the crowing of a rooster is heard across three countries”. It is set to host significant symbolic activities as part of the inaugural Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Defense Border Friendship Exchange program on December 14.

On December 11, a significant dialogue took place in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) between leaders from HCMC and Vientiane, marking a step forward in the special relationship between the two cities. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo Member and Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, and Mr. Anouphap Tounalom, Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Vientiane Party Committee, and Chairman of the Vientiane People's Council.
