Vietnamese leaders congratulate Lao counterparts on traditional New Year

Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan have sent flowers and greetings to their Lao counterparts on the occasion of the Lao traditional new year Boun Pi May.
Entrusted by the leaders, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung on April 11 conveyed the flowers and greetings to Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounhang Volachith, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisulith and National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotou.
NA Chairwoman Pany Yathotou took the occasion to express thanks to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their valuable and timely support, citing as an example the gift of a new building for the Lao legislative body.
She said the NAs of the two countries have maintained close cooperation and reaped many encouraging results, contributing to promote the Vietnam-Laos bilateral economic, trade and investment partnerships.
Ambassador Hung highlighted the effective and substantive development of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, adding that the ties between the two NAs are important to the relations between the two countries.
He pledged that the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos will work closely with Lao agencies for the effective implementation of agreements reached by their leaders. -VNA
