During his visit to Laos for the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits on October 8, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with staff from Vietnamese representative offices in Vientiane. At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Nguyễn Minh Tâm, expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister’s guidance and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the embassy staff in enhancing the friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

On September 17, 2024, the Paxaxon electronic newspaper published an article titled “Lao-Vietnam Nurturing Great Friendship and Special Solidarity to New Heights.” This coincided with the State visit of General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, and a high-level Lao delegation to Vietnam. Authored by Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Head of the Central Committee’s Foreign Affairs Department of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the article highlighted the importance of this visit for the special Vietnam-Laos relationship.

Vietnam and Laos Collaborate to Foster Continued Bilateral Trade Growth
In the "Vietnam-Laos Joint Statement," both sides are committed to implementing measures to maintain bilateral trade growth at an average annual increase of 10-15%; promoting trade activities, brand building, and distribution channels for Vietnamese and Lao products in each country to create sustainable outlets for various goods; encouraging the use of local currencies in bilateral trade and investment transactions. Vietnam will provide every possible facilitation for Laos to import and export goods through Vietnam’s seaports.
