The Pasaxon newspaper, the official publication of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, has recently published a series of articles praising the deep and longstanding relationship between Vietnam and Laos. The articles highlight the traditional and unwavering bond that has connected the two countries for generations. This relationship between the two Parties, Goverments, and peoples of Vietnam and Laos has been one of mutual support and cooperation, which has endured both during the challenging times of the struggle for national liberation and in the ongoing efforts of national development.

On September 2, 2024, Pasaxon and Pathet Lao, two of Laos’ leading newspapers, paid tribute to Vietnam's 79th National Day with front-page coverage. The articles commemorated the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945, marking the anniversary of the historic moment when President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed Vietnam’s independence in Hanoi, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

On August 27, 2024, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, led a high-level delegation to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The visit, made at the invitation of General Vilay Lakhamphong, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Public Security of Laos, coincided with the 18th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime in Vientiane.
